This talk is a unique opportunity for people of all faiths and backgrounds to hear this remarkable teacher share his wisdom and guidance on the deep and transformative practice of mindfulness and liberation.
We do not have to wait to experience true peace and happiness.
Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh teaches us that the conditions we need to be peaceful and happy are already present – in the here and now. Through the practice of mindfulness we can learn to connect with these conditions, to be nourished by the many wonders available to us in every moment – not as an idea or theory but as a lived reality. Through this powerful practice of mindfulness we also learn how to listen deeply and compassionately to our own and others’ suffering, without fear or judgement, and by doing so to help transform suffering into peace and joy – in the here and now.
Thich Nhat Hanh’s talk will be in English and accompanied by live subtitles for those who are hard of hearing.
Tickets for the talk are available directly from the Southbank Centre box office
Please note that this event is nearly sold out. However, it is still possible to book seats in the choir area, which is very close to Thay and the monastics and positioned directly behind them, by calling the Royal Festival Hall direct on 0844 847 9910. Those seated in this area will also be able to see the view of Thay’s face from the front, which will be displayed for them on large monitors either side of the stage.
